The reason was that the text was taken from a pre-existing website and thus violating copyright. You should re-write it, and then submit again. good luck

Deletion edit

It was deleted as a copyvio of http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/aireathleticfc/a/club-history-26992.html which appears to be now unavailable. This does happen. Web pages we want to check back on disappear overnight sometimes, like this one has. Creation would have been declined later anyway, as Sunday League clubs don't meet our standards of notability. Clubs that are professional or which have been professional do meet our requirements. Sorry about that, but we don't and can't list everything here. This is an encyclopaedia, not a directory or free webspace. We are free to edit, but we also have rules and one is that if text has been published somewhere, it cannot be brought into Wikipedia (even if you wrote it) because it is copyright and we are freely licensed for anyone anywhere to use our stuff. Your text isn't free to use. Even if you licensed it, the club isn't notable enough by our standards. When you get into the professional leagues, OK, but not before. Speedy deletion nomination of Aire Athletic F.C. edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aire Athletic F.C. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:19, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of user page edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the page User:AireAthletic, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Also, the page seemed to be totally promotional in character, but Wikipedia is not a medium for promotion of any kind. Either of these two reasons would have been sufficient grounds for speedy deletion.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License." You may also e-mail or mail the Foundation to release the content. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more.

While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:21, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Deletion (2) edit

If and when (and not before) the club achieves the five promotions and becomes a member of an all professional league, there will be no problems about an article. Just as we don't have articles about every corner store, every teacher, every doctor, every rapper, every... that's enough, we don't have articles about every football club. You seem to be doing quite well for a fairly recent club - but you'll find those five promotions not all that easy. Amateur clubs with long histories and notability may get in. Some may have got in before the rules on notability were tightened up. If you think you have enough notability, and can support it with reliable independent sources WP:RS, contact me, or for an independent view go to User talk:Tokyogirl79 or User talk:MelanieN. They might not know much about real football, but they know how to assess notability and rescue articles. This time, your article was tagged by one of the fairest-minded admins, and I try to be one too (which is why I didn't delete you last time, but left you a note instead). Would you argue with a ref that the rules should be changed because you don't like them? You might - I don't know you. But, be honest with yourself. Would it do any good? JamesB and I are referees here on Wikipedia. We watch things and know the rules, and have the power to send people (and articles) off the field. OK? Peridon (talk) 22:15, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Oops - you can't contact the girls now. If you do think you can prove notability, leave a message here. I'll be watching this page. Peridon (talk) 22:23, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
It's a soft block, they are free to create a new account with a non-infringing username. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:49, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

January 2013 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username to a username which complies with our username policy, so that your contributions with this username are recorded as contributions of your new username and rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you.
