Welcome to Wikipedia! edit

Hi Aina Bet, welcome to Wikipedia! I saw you added your name to the participant list at WP:MICRO, so I wanted to reach out to say hello. If you have questions getting started or are looking for something that needs doing, feel free to ask here, at my talk page, or (for general questions) at WP:TEAHOUSE where experienced editors field questions from newer editors. There's lots to do around here! I hope you decide to stick around. Happy editing! Ajpolino (talk) 16:18, 30 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ajpolino, thank you for your message! Truth is I am a little bit lost and could really use some direction. I would really like to contribute to the WikiProject_Microbiology however I can. I want to start small while I figure things out so any suggestion will be welcomed. Thank you for your time! Aina Bet (talk) 15:15, 31 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Aina Bet: That's exactly how I felt when I was getting started. It's a big site, and it's not always easy to see where you can be useful. When I started, I found it comforting to chip away at some minor maintenance problems while I got my feet under me. Here is a list of all 919 articles that are tagged as microbiology-related (by having the WP:MICRO tag on their talk pages) and are also tagged with some help-needed template. For little technical stuff, you can see in the References section there are a number of citations that have been flagged for having information missing or improperly formatted. A whopping 321 articles have {{citation needed}} tags. A viruses-specific version is here. If you'd rather jump in headfirst, if you give me some topics of potential interest, I'm happy to link articles that could use some research and prose. Both of those lists update once a week (I believe on Tuesday) so if you fix things they won't update instantaneously. If you run into anything confusing or have questions about anything don't hesitate to ask! We really need more eyes/brains on the microbiology articles. We've already got plenty of problems to fix. Happy editing! Ajpolino (talk) 17:13, 31 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
