Speedy deletion nomination of Capokolam edit

Hello Aimecesaire28,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Capokolam for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 14:04, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I cannot accept your rationale for contesting the speedy deletion is valid and have deleted the page. If you think that you are able to improve the page to an acceptable article you can have it back as a draft to work on. Just make a request on my talk page, but please read WP:42 before doing so. I note that you have deleted my page under the 'Speedy Deletion' process, and you say simply that you cannot accept my rationale as to why this shouldnt be the case. However you offer no reason as to why by argument is not convincing. Again, CSD A7 is not eligible to delete my page as it is a an educational institution, and furthermore clearly has credible signficance - you have not explained why you do not agree with this. There are myriad examples of pages for similar organisations, who in fact re arguably less significant. Please can you explain why you have deleted the page?
It is not the right way forward to ask for an explanation then immediately reinstate the article without waiting for a reply. The page will almost certainly be deleted again. As administrators, we have the power to prevent you from repeatedly doing this if necessary. You must also learn to stop referring to the page as "my page". Once you have posted material on Wikipedia, it no longer belongs to you, it belongs to the community and they can do with it as they see fit.
If you are associated with this organisation (as you appear to be) you have a conflict of interest and should read that page and abide by the recommendations in it. If you are paid by this organisation then you are a paid editor and are requried to disclose this fact under the Terms of Use of this site.
I did not accept that you are exempt from A7 because a charity providing education is not the same as an actual educational institution such as a school or a university. The reason this exemption exists is that whenever the notability of a school has been researched in the past, there is inevitably some discussion of the school at least in the local press because readers are parents and parents are always interested in their schools. This establishes notability under the definition used on Wikipedia, and speedy deletion would be unwarranted. That does not extend to any other type of organisation. The bottom line is that even if I were to accept that A7 was invalid, the article still does not establish notability and would likely still be deleted after a full deletion debate.
Being a charity does not by itself make you notable, nor does doing good work. The existence of other similar articles is usually not accepted here as a valid argument, see WP:OTHERSTUFF. Those other articles may be just as deserving of deletion. If you must make comparisons, make comparisons with articles that have been through a quality review, or survived a deletion debate. Our Featured articles are considered our best work and are consequently the thing to look to for the last word on accepted standards. SpinningSpark 13:59, 30 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
