Shegoinge

Shegoinge is the title or an official name called to those top class family / regional rulers in the southern westerner parts of ancient India. Shegoinge also refer to any person who is the owner of large property where he has the right to levy / collect taxes from those people who occupy the land for agriculture or other source of business. In modern world's term, Shegoinge the title can be translated equally to the title "The Founders". Shegoinge or in books like Purana Kerala Charithram written by Thachu Gouda Swamikal in early 1800's AD is also mentioned as Shego - so the term Shegoingeor Shego(the popular version of Shoegoinge) means The ruler or the owner. Still in many parts of South West India this Title is awarded to Chiefs of Joined Family
