Copyright edit

Hi, I received a notice that you had posted content taken from other places in a way that tripped the copyright and plagiarism system. A look at the notification system showed that you did two things. The first is that you used fairly large quotes - while you did cite these quotes, large quotes do run afoul of our copyright guidelines because we can only justify the use of fairly small quotes that are usually a sentence at most. Sometimes, rarely, we can justify larger quotes, but these have to be quotes that are fairly landmark in nature, such as the verdict to a major trial or a statement by a high ranking politician on a very notable event or topic. Another thing that you did was copy content from this journal article directly without actually citing it. When it was copied it looked like you also copied the copyright symbol from the paper. All content is considered to be copyrighted in a way that is not compatible with Wikipedia unless it's explicitly marked as such.

Before you edit further I'd like for you to go over the plagiarism module, thanks. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:56, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
