Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Dutta has been reverted.
Your edit here to Dutta was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://thepinkbee.blogspot.com/2012/10/chitra-shome-was-born-in-calcutta-in.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:44, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Caste articles - Unconstructive edits and edit warring

edit

It seems you are new to Wikipedia, and not completely aware of our policies as well as conventions followed. Please read WP:RS, WP:V, and especially WP:Consensus, and so on. You are not supposed to edit consensus versions unilaterally, unless you have good reasons, which must be mentioned in the Edit Summary. While all constructive edits are welcome, unconstructive edits and edit warring (i.e. reverting edits without assigning reason) is not acceptable. Ekdalian (talk) 05:32, 5 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The community has imposed sanctions in relation to Indian caste articles, etc and I think it would be wise for you to be aware of them. For this reason, please find below a copy of the notice.

The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions.
