Help me!

edit

Please help me with...an article I have written on a company, Pure Collection. I have experience of editing pages, but this is my first 'page from scratch' so I am sure I will have made some mistakes. I have followed all the guidelines in the excellent 'How Wikipedia Works' book, and tried to be neutral (the owner is a old friend), and ensure it is 'notable'. I have found a number of good published sources to support the 'notability' and have tried 'Submit for Review', but so far nothing has happened! I strongly suspect this may be my own error!

Can you advise? I am keep to continue to contribute to Wikipedia, and have a good specialist knowledge of historic English pubs, so I would like to work on this next, but I feel I need some further guidance before attempting another page from scratch.

the article is currently in my sandbox, as suggested.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Your sandbox was nominated for deletion because the nominator felt is is overly promotional. Wikipedia is fine with having articles about companies, but everything should be written in a neutral tone. You are welcome to join in the deletion discussion, and continue working on the page. It might be worth pointing out the references you have added, which mitigates some of the overly-promotional aspect of it (i.e. it's not just the company saying these things, but others). If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 21:37, 24 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the advice Primefac. I will do as you suggest.

Hello, Adrianrowe. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Thane Direct, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. This article will not be changed; the article originally referred to a television network and will continue to do so, and an allowance has been made to mention that the company transitioned to online presentation and purchased time. Hi Nate
I don't think I have contravened any of your guidelines here - I declared to you straight away that the company is a client for other purposes, but I am not being paid for any Wikipedia work.
I wasn't attempting to 'advertise' Thane Direct in any way - simply to correct the misinformation in the current version. Namely, Thane Direct UK is not a 'teleshopping channel' or a 'TV network', it is an online ecommerce company and direct supplier to major UK retailers. It simply used a home shopping channel as one of its marketing channels. Secondly, it is not 'closed' as shown on the Infobox - it is an active, thriving UK company, registered at Companies House. So the current version of the page contains misleading and inaccurate content.
I'd be very grateful if you could look again at the version I created, and see if you think that a compromise could be reached that contains the information on its former usage of a teleshopping channel, but removes the inaccurate elements.
Many thanks
