NTF

edit

I kind of feel bad for the guy, but the no personal attacks policy really is non-negotiable. I didn't press it before because HD was replying in kind, and things settled down for a while. Oh well. If you can speak with him outside of WP, perhaps you can explain that the policy is necessary to keep this site running, and takes precedence even over other policies. --Fire Star 22:27, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid I don't actually know him outside of WP. Perhaps some more progress can be made with HD while NTF is gone. Anything's possible, I guess. —Adityanath 22:30, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I hope so. As far as the sockpuppet thing, one of the things we look for in sockpuppets is also differences or similarities in editing style. I am satisfied that there are enough differences between the various accounts to say there isn't any puppeting going on, IMO. --Fire Star 22:38, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks (more on your talk page). —Adityanath 22:41, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is in response to your message on my talkpage. I don't have much knowledge about the subject, but at first glance, it looks great. btw, there is a copyvio note in the middle of the article. If the copyvio is only for a part of the article and the violation is not very old, it can be removed (along with the tag) with an edit summary to that effect - if someone tries to re-insert copyvio content that would be considered vandalism and would be dealt with as such. Please note that quoting limited text from other sources for summarising and/or commenting would be fair use and not a copyvio. --Gurubrahma 02:49, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is typically best if admins do the removal from the listing. I have done so, as it is more than a week old and as I do not believe it to be a copyvio. However, also consider the scope of stating the same in your own words, using the quotes minimally. The article with the long-ish quote is also ok, imo, in terms of adherence to copyright stipulations. --Gurubrahma 03:09, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I am glad you have the page on your watch-list -- every page should have one dependable person watching it. Regards, ImpuMozhi 23:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

3 RR violation and block

edit

You were revert warring at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shiv-Goraksha Babaji and have been blocked for a 3RR violation for 24 hours.Gator (talk) 19:47, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Gator, I was attempting to put back comments and votes removed by User:Hamsacharya dan. I reported it on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. If I reverted too many times there I apologize and agree not to continue. I do know the rule and agree to abide by it. Just that what he was doing kinda paniced me because he was doing it so rapidly and losing peoples votes in the process. It still needs to be fixed. HD kept moving his votes up to the top and the delete votes to the bottom. By the way, you've blocked the NAT server for my company. There are over 1000 people behind it. —Adityanath 19:54, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I understand where you were coming from, but that isn't an exception o the 3 revert rule. If anyone else at that company wants to edit within the next 24 hours (unlikely), they will not be able to. You can refer them to me if you'd like, but I'll just refer them to you.Gator (talk) 20:10, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, the IP is not blocked, just your user name.Gator (talk) 20:17, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Not true. It autoblocked when I tried to edit before I got your notice. I just logged out and tested it. Please unblock the IP. I agree not to use it to subvert the block. —Adityanath 20:19, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you try and edit with your account, it will not let you. I do not know your IP and, therefore could not have blocked it. However, even if the IP is blocked, I will not unblock so you can continue editing....I would be an idiot. Just do something else for the next 24 hours. If anyoen asks why they can't edit, they can talk to you. Enough.Gator (talk) 20:22, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing the date. Doh. :-) —Adityanath 20:30, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I still think it's 2005, so I understand.Gator (talk) 20:31, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
