Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Aditya Kodmur

edit

Hello, Aditya Kodmur

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Aditya Kodmur for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Aditya Kodmur

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Aditya Kodmur, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Block from editing

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently using Wikipedia for self-promotion. You have repeatedly created self-promotional vanity pages, you have repeatedly posted spam about yourself into existing articles, including at least once into an article on a totally unrelated topic, and you show no interest in contributing to the encyclopaedia in any other way. You have also tried to hide the nature of what you have been doing, by using edit summaries which totally misrepresent what your edits have done. There are many websites where you are free to boast to the world about how wonderful you think you are, but that is not what Wikipedia is for.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of this page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  JBW (talk) 10:37, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Aditya. I have read your email, in which you ask me to unblock your account. I am answering here, rather than by email, because, for several reasons, it is better for communications to be visible to other editors and administrators unless there is confidential information involved, which in this case there isn't.

The gist of what you said in your email is as follows. You wanted to have a Wikipedia article to publicise information about yourself, couldn't find anyone who would create the article for you for pay, so you decided to do it yourself. You had no idea that there was the possibility of pages being deleted because they weren't suitable, or of editors being blocked. Now that you do know, you will not do the same things again.

I can well believe that when you first came to edit Wikipedia you genuinely had no idea that deletions and blocks were possible, as a very large number of people make the mistake of thinking that "anyone can edit Wikipedia" means "anyone can edit Wikipedia in any way they like", and I don't blame you at all for that mistake. However, well before the time of your latest edits to the self-promotional pages you created, you had received the notice above from Liz, and you had seen a page you created deleted with the reason given as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion", and had re-created it. By that time, therefore, you certainly did know that promotional editing was not permitted, and that unacceptable pages were likely to be deleted. I am also discouraged from giving as much credence as I otherwise might to the idea that you were acting in all innocence, by your use of misleading edit summaries. Nineteen of your edits were made with edit summaries saying "Fixed typo", but the substantial majority of those edits did things which you could not possibly have thought were anything to do with typoes. Similar remarks apply to some of your other edit summaries. I have no way of knowing why you did that, but it must at the least raise doubts about your intentions.

Despite all that, if you are interested in contributing to Wikipedia in ways other than writing to promote yourself, I will be very willing to consider unblocking you. You can follow the instructions above on how to request an unblock, and if I see your request and am satisfied that you are not likely to repeat the kind of editing which led to the block I shall unblock you. Alternatively any other administrator is welcome to unblock you without consulting me if they are convinced by your unblock request (though I will be grateful if they inform me that they have done so). However, to help you to avoid wasting your time on something which has virtually no chance of success, I warn you that I don't think any administrator is likely to unblock you if it seems that you intend to continue to use Wikipedia to publicise yourself. There are many websites where you are perfectly free to tell the world about what "incredible skills" you believe yourself to have, how you think you "inspire the new generation of India's magic", and so on, but Wikipedia isn't one of them. hello, i have read the entire message, i promise you that this mistake will not happen again, and the information i wrote in the Wikipedia was true, i will some social media evidence that will provide I'm the best card thrower in the world, and few months ago i broke a official Guinness World records title for being the most accurate Card thrower in the world, i hope i get confirmation from them this or next month, the reason for being that record is i wanted to raise up people who don't believe any career is possible if you put time and afforts in it, i have been doing magic for past 7 years since I was a kid and the difference between my magic and other people in India's magic is totally different because i practiced magic that been thaught in USA and UK, (and i don't know if you know this or not - in India people don't want you to do anything like this a skills, art, or anything they want you to do a job, and for picking up the magic i was appreciated by the outside world but not inside, my home members use to tell me that magic won't take you anywhere and will not put food on your table but guess what i continued doing magic no matter what happen and i proved them wrong, and you know I'm the first Indian card thrower to draw by throwing playing cards and 3rd in the world, before me the champion 4x Guinness World records hold Rick Smith Jr did, and Guinness World records hold Rokas did it, i will take India's magic to a whole new level and show people what magic actually is, i hope you understand and I'm hoping you please unblock me i want to learn more about Wikipedia and i promise the mistake which happened will not happen again i promise you🙏 please Aditya Kodmur (talk) 05:30, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
