Stop edit

Can you stop removing Afghanistan from South Asian articles?? It’s giving you’re obsessed with me. Hello. Afghanistan is geographically located mostly in South Asia, while a tiny bit in Central Asia. I wouldn’t consider Afghanistan a Central Asian country just like I wouldn’t consider Egypt a West Asian country or Turkey being a European country. Phenotypically, Afghans look South Asian (they do not look like their Central Asian counterparts, and plus majority of Afghanistan is in South Asia as is the population). And phenotypically Bhutanese people look more East/Southeast Asian than any other South Asian country. There’s so much hypocrisy here but it’s probably based on Islamophobia, the West’s criticism of the Middle East when Afghanistan is South Asian not West Asian, and inaccurate opinions. Geography is more important than geopoliticism Gatorbearratica (talk) 07:28, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your going around vandalizing and removing sourced material. “It’s giving your obessed with me?” What does that even mean? Your not improving the articles Adamv701 (talk) 07:34, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

How am I vandalizing articles? Afghanistan is included in the article titled “South Asia”. You’re on here at 2 am in the morning adding fallacious information it’s so annoying. Gatorbearratica (talk) 07:36, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? Afghanistan is already mentioned in the South Asian ethnic group article! You previously removed an entire list of sources and was reverted by another editor, yet you still continue. For the south Asian American article you are competely ignoring the quoted source and instead just adding your own opinions! Adamv701 (talk) 07:41, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

It should be included in South Asian articles. Yes, because of the West’s misinformation, Afghanistan is usually excluded from being South Asian. But geographically majority of Afghanistan is in South Asia. Stop excluding Afghanistan from south asian references. Gatorbearratica (talk) 07:45, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

It is already included! “The wests misinformation”? And “excluding from references?” Your the one whom is removing referenced material and instead add your own opinions! And you yourself admit that it’s usually excluded! So what more is there to discuss? Your pretty much saying that sources don’t matter and only your opinion is important! Also as a side note, In case you didn’t know geographically Afghanistan sits on a different plate then the Indian Subcontinent. Adamv701 (talk) 07:50, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Afghanistan is majority South Asian, and if you didn’t know Sri Lanka and the Maldives are off the coast of the Indian Subcontinent. Gatorbearratica (talk) 15:21, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

STOP messing with the articles. For the South Asian Americans article Afghans are not counted in that demographic in the US cencus. The different sources in the article clearly state so. The south Asian ethnic group article also already mentions Afghanistan and you are once again trying to add it in twice for some unknown reason. You are ignoring sources and instead putting in your own opinion. Adamv701 (talk) 15:26, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tell me how Afghanistan isn’t south Asian I’m waiting Gatorbearratica (talk) 21:40, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

South Asia edit

Stop excluding Afghanistan from being south Asian when it’s included in the article of South Asia. I’m reporting you for abuse, sock puppetry, and spreading disinformation if you refuse to stop. Thank you. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:12, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? You are removing sourced information and adding in your opinions and going against consensus which was previously reached! I am simply restoring that information and you are accusing me of “abuse”? This is not how Wikipedia works Adamv701 (talk) 22:21, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tell me how Afghanistan is not a South Asian country and I’ll stop. Gatorbearratica (talk) 22:27, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok, it seems you are misunderstanding things. This is about South Aisan Americans and south Asian ethnic groups articles.
first off with South Asian Americans, Afghans are NOT counted in this demographic per the US cencus. This has nothing about wether Afghanistan is sometimes considered South Asian or not, it’s ONLY about south Asian Americans. Read the sources, even though Afghanistan is geopolitically grouped with South Asia sometimes, Afghan Americans are not part of the south Asian American demographic, they are grouped differently. This is not my opinion but what the sources say(such as the us Census). So therefor it’s not right to add it in the article.
secondly, about the South Asian ethnic groups article, it very clearly states that Afghanistan is sometimes group with South Asia and other times grouped with Central Asia. even though Afghanistan is sometimes grouped with South Asia in many instances when it comes to Afghan people they are left out of the south asian category(again not my opinion but what the sources say) such as the US census, Canadians census, the Uk census and many other things such as the South Asian bio bank….etc. this consensus had already been reached among the different editors a while back, to have a sentence that says Afghanistan is sometimes group with South Asian or Central Asia but not always counted as part of the south Asian ethnic groups.
this debate is NOT about if Afghanistan is “South Asian” or “Central Asian”, that is what your are misunderstanding. Nobody has edited the south Asian page and tried to remove Afghanistan(which by the way even the note in that article states that Afghanistan is not always considered South Aisa) Adamv701 (talk) 22:41, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
