Gigapets!?!!! What?

Hello, you have sent me a message mentioning vandalism on the "Giga Pets" page. Just one problem. I have never even seen or have ever visited that page. I have absolutely no knowledge of Giga Pets. I go by this account, and I'm pretty much always logged in. My IP is usually at 71.254.56.27, so that's not even me. Missing Link

Hello, Adam

I'm contacting you since I can't find anyone else who might know, and you have edited the Solvay Process Company article once in the past. Subsequent to your edit, because the article was becoming so long, I broke out some of the information, putting it in a separate, linked article, about the Hazard Family. Today I was contacted by e-mail from someone who had seen that linked article and now wanted to refer others to it, but found that the Hazard Family article had disappeared.

Considerable work went into compiling the information and relevant links from this lost article. Can you tell me, or refer me, to anyone who is able to explain what happened? I'd like to know if that information has been lost forever, or if it resides somewhere in computer memory. Apparently when an entire article is removed, there is no History available to document what happened.\

Hi there Paul. Regarding the article, Hazard family, it was deleted because the subject was judged to not be notable enough to merit having its own article. You can find this from the deletion log[1] for that page. The guidelines for determining notability are at Wikipedia:Notability (people). Now I'm not sure what happens to any text that was on the page Hazard family but I have retrieved what you moved from the article Solvay Process Company because it stays in the page history. I'm sure you can fit it back into the article better than me but its back at least. Adambro 08:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Okayplayer wiki

Please remove the"krazykid18 basically runs the site" from the Okayplayer wiki page. The previous edits were running jokes within the Okayplayer community referencing either longstanding charter members and their posts or "famous" OKPs. "krazykid18" is a recent "shock" poster on OKP.

RFA comment

Sorry for the rather late reply. I am backing down for now as i am feeling i am not quite ready. My two main goals are to get use to templating properly and not have my bland, unique templating style e.g. (my only current example that hasn't change yet)

SPT Stations

Thanks for added the SPT Stations category, I wasw working slowly through them with the SPT infobox, but time pressures mean that I have not had much time recently to continue.

Looking at the SPT map, the West Highland is shown as a limited SPT service to Garelochead, so I think you are right regarding Arrochar and Ardlui. --Stewart 18:47, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

You'll find some of my comments regarding this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Transport in Scotland. One of the ideas behind adding all SPT stations to the category being that if my proposal is adopted, it will make it much easier to make the required changes.

Infobox UK Stations

I had not noticed the ongoing comments on the talk page, otherwise I would have made a comments. Too late now, however here are my thoughts.....

I am not convinced with your change to the template and removing of the historical data. I feel that the data from three periods is optimum. In my mind data for a single period has no context. Multiple periods gives a meaningful context and should be encouraged. I was going to leave it until the next set of data was published. I do however agree that a long list is not appropriate.

As regards usage, I prefer the terminology, however not being an AWB user, I was steadily working through the Scottish Stations as time allowed. Consequently it was a slow activity. If I had got to grips with AWB, I could have done it a bit quicker.

Moving the copyright notice would have been a simple job, if I had been paying attention. --Stewart 17:31, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I wholeheartly agree with you in applying consistency across the infoboxes with "universal" box.

Now for a controversal thought - as regards stats, maybe they should not really be included in the infobox at all. If usage adds to the value of an article, it should be added to the main text. Think about this in printed book space, this type of data would appear as a table during the main discussion.

Linked to this is the description of service pattern in an article. When I have been doing other edits I had been qualifying the service pattern to a current date. Incidentally, as a previous regular user of Langside railway station I have attempted to recall the service pattern over the past 20-25 years. --Stewart 18:08, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Infobox SPT Stations

Are you now going to do the same to the SPT template with regards to exits? Mind you, you have provided a very useful insight to the SPT template - and is it really necessary. Ignoring Partick for the time being, the UK Stations infobox, and the Glasgow Subway infobox I think is the way forward. For Partick, just use both. I had added the SPT station category to the infobox, so this will have to be added to th article when the infobox is changed. --Stewart 17:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Infobox for UK stations

I find the removal of this information not helpful. It will give a clear indication of usage over a number of years, which a single year will not.

I felt that your edits were removing important and relevant information and the way forward was to migrate all other stations to this format.

Hi - just adding my support to you both for the retention of the phrase "rail crash" in related articles. stn art lrnk

I tend to believe that if stn art lrnk is detractive from an article, it requires removing from all, and not just one. People inevitably forget, and I think all articles having this until the outcome of the TfD is invariably a good thing, as it prevents people forgetting. If it deserves to go, it deserves to go from all, and this is easier if the TfD is deleted, and all links removed by a robot later.
