I'm sorry if my terse "edit summary" wasn't helpful and has led us to disagreement. I am quite sure we agree far more than we disagree, and that much of the problem is just finding the best words to define something that is hard to define. Please see my full discussion on Talk:Epilepsy. Even some of the worlds brightest neurologists have exchange cross words in public over the precise definition of epilepsy.
My edit summary went too far when it claimed "chronic" was not part of any official definition. However, the lead sentence already had this word, in the position I was happy with. Adding it again, seemed to introduce yet another requirement on a diagnosis of epilepsy that was not required by any official definition I have found.
I'm quite happy for you to "tell me off" if you think I've got something wrong. However, in keeping with Wikipedia's principles, I much prefer if you can find a third party reliable-source to back it up rather than just giving your own (expert) opinion.
