The World Whisky Awards and Jim Murray Whisky Bible awards are most certainly whether there is a Wikipedia article on them or not. Using an existing Wikipedia article as the benchmark for notability is a bit of a catch 22 as far as any new article submissions go, however considering there's an International Whisky Competition article, which is smaller in a global scale (but bigger in the US) than the World Whisky Awards, they're most certainly notable Abbaskip (talk) 14:20, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for your help and talking through the process. I wasn't trying to be difficult, just challenging some responses which I thought didn't necessarily address my issue. @Abbaskip As soon as we got your attention away from being mildly disenchanted to being happy to engage I think you have found it a fun and enlightening process.

Definitely, though I'm generally a questioner and a why person - and sometimes that comes across as argumentative (rather than clarificative) through the "tone of text".

Thanks again for your help, especially @Timtrent and @Theroadislong on steering me in the right direction.

Now what started as my first Wikipedia article creation, due to me enjoying a Friday afternoon whisky, googling more info on the distillery and seeing no Wikipedia page, has led to me getting to sleep at 0240 Abbaskip (talk) 16:46, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

I considered that, but sleep first. I also noticed Australia's most successful distillery at the WWA's - Sullivans Cove, has no article.
