Abhiyum Naanum

The film is a Tamil film. There are several films at List of multilingual Indian films under the partially re-shot films in which the film is dubbed and a few scenes are reshot. Kindly show the CBFC certificate that the film is not dubbed. This sources states the original language.[1] --TamilMirchi (talk) 02:57, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

TamilMirchi, I made the after verifying it's not dubbed per CBFC certificate. Can't post that link here as it may be a copyvio. Alternately, search "Aakasamantha 2008" on YouTube and see if you can find it. -- Ab207 (talk) 05:22, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
The movie on YouTube doesn't have the certificates. Kindly sent me the link via email. TamilMirchi (talk) 15:48, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
TamilMirchi, As you wish mate. Do check your e-mail.--Ab207 (talk) 19:11, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
The CBFC certificates of Naandhanda (Tamil version of Satya 2) and Mallanna (Telugu version of Kanthaswamy) both do not state that the film is dubbed; although most of it is. Should the language be included in the infobox if most of the film is dubbed? Based on Infobox film under language, the language used in the infobox should be the primary language used in the film. --TamilMirchi (talk) 22:19, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
TamilMirchi, Infobox film is talking about films where more than one language is spoken like Inglourious Basterds, as opposed to Multiple-language version, so it doesn't help us much here.
CBFC certificate tells whether the film is dubbed or not in the most unambiguous way, which many reliable sources do not. And when the film is not dubbed per CBFC, it gets tax breaks, becomes eligible for state-sponsored awards, etc. We cannot ignore that. Ultimately, it's a toss-up between primary source vs secondary source. I'd still choose CBFC per WP:PRIMARYNOTBAD. --Ab207 (talk) 06:13, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
This is getting confusing. Films that are marketed as dubbed films such as Run (2003) in Telugu, Sivaji: The Boss in Telugu and Naan Annayitaal (Nene Raju Nene Manthiri) in Tamil contain reshot scenes. The CBFC certificates of Run and Naan Annaiyitaal states that the film is dubbed although the film contains reshot scenes. TamilMirchi (talk) 23:11, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
TamilMirchi, I think a film can be dubbed despite having some reshot scenes. If reliable sources indicate that, we can present it. If the film is a direct film per CBFC, then the question of reshot scenes shall not arise. -- Ab207 (talk) 06:26, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Even an entirely dubbed film, Namo Bhootatma in Hindi does not state dubbed in the CBFC certificate.TamilMirchi (talk) 16:33, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
TamilMirchi, Well, That's an interesting one. If you observe the details, it says "This certificate is valid for video films only" at the top, unlike the usual "This certificate is valid for theatrical release only." So, I think that for video films, details about the film's dubbing is omitted. Ab207 (talk) 05:36, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Vishnu Manchu

Hi, can you tell me what to do regarding this. While Manchu should be used as per MOS:SURNAME, but then again we have Manchu Manoj article in which we don't seem to be following any guideline, both Kumar and Manoj are being used. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:55, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Fylindfotberserk, While the family name is Manchu, they are seldom referred to as such. Here you can see a similar edit where the usage of surname is replaced by given name. Telugu names are a bit complicated which may require a discussion of its own. Perhaps, a culture-specific exception at MOS:GIVENNAME could address such issues. -- Ab207 (talk) 14:38, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, complicated.  . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:54, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Sarkaru Vaari Paata shoot

There have been many reports that shooting will commence January 2021 so is it the right time to publish the article? [1][2][3]. SP013 (talk) 02:57, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

SP013, Yeah, that would be the ideal time to publish the article. Ab207 (talk) 07:07, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
I think that we can publish the page right since they have officially announced that shoot begins the first week of January. SP013 (talk) 19:39, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
@SP013: Sources must confirm that the shoot has commenced. WP:NFF is pretty clear on that. Until then, it can be incubated in draft stage. -- Ab207 (talk) 19:54, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Requested move of Rajahmundry to Rajamahendravaram

Respected brother, I have gone through your explanation.

Per WP:COMMONNAME, Common names concept is applied mainly to the places or people who have an original name but not used and they use only the name "used or provided" by the media and other publications as the official name and also as a Common Name to let people understand it easily. But here in this case, I don't feel there is such confusion or complexity as the new name is only used by the people, media and all other publications. And this Common Name concept is not prevalent in India, as once the new name comes in place, it is used by all uniformly.

Every city's previous name is regarded as a COMMON NAME in India even after it's change to a new official name as it was used for many years. With this regard, I feel the new name cannot be treated as the official name by not using it in the page's title and just by having it in the first line in the page. Because people would only know after clicking it to see about the page. In other instances, only the name is used to denote something about the city. And if only the previous name is still in usage, people would assume it to be the official name or the old name still in the usage. This wouldn't serve the purpose of changing the name too. They would only know that by clicking and going through the page. I belong to the district of the respective city. So I want others to know about the city's heritage. And I don't feel anything wrong about changing the page's name as it is used in daily aspect and in all official works. And infact using the old name would be against the concept of WP:COMMONNAME as the confusion prevails between the old and new. I request you to think about my intention and support this. And if needed, the previous name or common name will be provided in the page's first line. Please go through this and understand our intention brother. @Chinnusaikrish: Hello brother, please do not open duplicate discussion like this. Dear brother,

I thank you for arranging and resetting the bullets and paragraphs. But above this, the main issue needs your attention. I request you to go through my explanation for which there was no reply from your side. It would be good if you put your theory as a reply for my explanation. And If all goes well I request you to support it too. And I hope you would surely support this. Chinnusaikrish (talk) 08:56, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
