I believe we are suppose to use User talk for means of communication via Wikipedia, but I did not realize the complexity of this course and it has been challenging so far for me. I do understand that there is so much we can do in terms of communication and assistance to peers as an online course, but any help from you will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the message! Evaluation of Norris Church Mailer article

Name of article: Norris Church Mailer I have evaluated the Norris Church Mailer article as part of my assignment for the Writing and Publishing in the Digital Environment course.

Lead The Norris Church Mailer article provides a clear and concise lead that describes whom Mailer was and why the article was written about her. A brief introduction is provided as part of the introductory paragraph. The article has several sections that allows the readers to skim quickly about what they they will be reading about before reading the entire article. Some topics within the article that pop out to me would be Life with Norman Mailer, Health issues and Death, and Legacy among others.

Content The information that is provided to the reader is relevant especially the introductory paragraph when you are mention what her real name is. She was named Barbara Jean Davis at birth. Following this introductory is the different occupation that Mailer took during her life. As the article states she would later become known to the public because of her marriage to Norman Mailer, a famous novelist. We are provided with several important milestones, novels she published, her life with Norman Mailer, and her life dedication to her numerous children during her multi-talented career. The information that is provided is written in a chronological order for the most part, from her early life before Norman Mailer, during Norman Mailer life, and after Norman Mailer.

Tone and Balance For the most part of the article, the author maintains a professional and neutral tone that balances out the entire article. A reader whom visits this article will find reliable information in a matter that omits opinionated information. Under the Early Life section, we get a glimpse of her life and difficulty that the reader experience as you grew up. We get more information about the author's famous encounters as stated with her short lived experience before President Clinton was President.

Sources and References The sources and references are provided and reliable. I have a good view and easy to locate the sources when I click on the link to see the reference. The facts are provided by footnotes that can be reviewed and followup by reader for additional information or further read. I click on two links: Norris Mailer, 6th wife of Norman Mailer, Dies taken from the Tulsa World website and "Norris Church Mailer: The Last Wife" New York Times Magazine online website. The articles are as current as are up until Mailer's death.

Organization The article is written in a chronological order that for the most time keeps the life of Norris Mailer until her death. The article does not indicate major grammatical or spelling errors. The article presentation provides a clean and straightforward information about the multi-talented Norris Mailer's life and reason for her well-known career. The article is not lengthy which allows the reader to skim through the article for immediate access to any particular section of her life.

Images and Media The article includes a picture of Norris Church Mailer, but no images are provided of her novel work, modeling career, or acting work. The image that is provided is place in the appropriate section under her biographical information to the right top section of the article for visibility. The author of the image references the information and can see this reference information when you click on the image for more information.

Checking the talk page I briefly view the talk page to see the types of updates and edits that could have done to the article. I was able to view several edits done by my peers and even mention briefly feedback myself regarding the article. I notice that the article was not of interest for the Wikiprojects.

Overall impressions The article provides a blue print for my upcoming project on writing about "The Faith of Graffiti". The strength of the article is shown by the organization and content of the article. Any article can always be improved by adding more details about Mailer's novel and acting career. This article can be characterize as an underdeveloped article but in motion to a better developed article when sections about her work are elaborated on further.
