Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, your persistent addition of external links (to a particular website) violates Wikipedia's external links policy, as adding links to the same site on numerous articles fits the characteristics of spam. I'm not sure if you are affiliated with the website, in some way? But, if you don't want to be viewed as a spammer, I advise you to instead add content to the articles rather than only add links. Thanks. -Kmf164 (talk | contribs) 14:57, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm assuming good faith here, but your selection of links strongly favor a particular website. I have the impression that they are spam links, as this behavior perfectly fits the characteristics of spammers. Such links are frowned upon in Wikipedia, as Wikipedia is not a mere collection of links. Please stop adding the links; Instead, I encourage you to add more to Wikipedia than links. -Kmf164 (talk | contribs) 15:45, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Specifically, all your contributions seem to be adding links to about.com, and always adding them at the top of the "External links" sections. It is hard for us to not just assume that you are involved with writing (or advertising on) these about.com pages. Please read all of meta:When should I link externally, and Wikipedia:External links#Links to normally avoid before adding any more external links. thank you. -Quiddity 19:16, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Going forward I will follow the guidelines in the links you sent, and will also start contributing with more meaningful content.

Thanks again,

Excellent response, you've got WP:CIVIL down pat :)
I'll place a standard "welcome" template below, it has a large (overwhelming!) amount of useful links. But you've got the right attitude, so don't worry too much, and have fun helping us all with this site :) --Quiddity 01:12, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
