  Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.
While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. This message is not meant to discourage you from editing Wikipedia but rather to remind you that the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia. Thank you. Vampire:

edit

Yes, there's a reason that the books aren't mentioned on the main vampire page: The main vampire article's fiction section is meant only for very notable examples such as Bram Stoker's Dracula etc etc. The books you have commented you want to add are not notable enough to warrant inclusion on the main vampire article. There is however a sub page where you can place whatever your heart desires, but as I mentioned, only notable mentions on the main vampire article. I notice you're new here - if you need any help or anything at all, pop by my talk page and I'm sure I can help you out. Cheers, Spawn Man (talk) 21:23, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to use talk pages such as Your talk page for inappropriate discussion, as described here, you may be blocked. Seriously. And we are not Myspace. BoL 03:13, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ignore this warning

edit
Please ignore this warning. The users administering them have been warned themselves by the community for disruptive behavior. The rules for user talk page discussions are fairly lenient. I don't see anything on this page that warranted any warning, and certainly not of a block. Please carry on and relax -- these users do not speak for Wikipedia in any way :) Equazcion /C 14:55, 14 Jan 2008 (UTC)
Actually, despite what equazcion says, don't ignore these warnings. Keep contributing positively to the encyclopedia and don't try to turn this into a social network like you were doing for awhile with Oreo lover and Lover of the sand and the others. Metros (talk) 15:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Guess we have a difference of opinion here. Nevertheless, chances are you won't get blocked for socializing on your talk page. And yes it would be better to focus on improving the encyclopedia. Equazcion /C 15:11, 14 Jan 2008 (UTC)

Okay, that's a relief. Still, I'll try to do better. A pyrate's life for me... (talk) 16:50, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I saw that you left a note on the Doc Films talk page and I just wanted to make sure that you saw my response. Redlinks often are left in articles for various reasons. In this case Ida Noyes Hall will probably be written at some time in the future. Leaving a redlink is one way of reminding Wikipedians that the article still needs to be written. --Gimme danger (talk) 22:27, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Since your warning...

edit

Since the warning you were given about not treating this like a social network, you've made ONE edit that wasn't related to the user talk space. You need to contribute to the encyclopedia and stop playing with user boxes and chatting with others. Metros (talk) 16:48, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Here, I got an idea. Whenever they say something to you (your friends), just ignore them and focus on the encyclopedia. Pretty good so far, I guess. Just in case if you wanted to know, you can find out how much mainspace you contributed here. Good luck, and may this inspire you to join Wikiprojects and work on articles based on your knowledge. If they continue to send you random messages, just revert them without reading them and let me or Metros know. Although Metros'll do a better job in dealing the situation. :p BoL (Talk) 23:02, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shinobi Life

edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Shinobi Life, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Images in articles???

edit

Unfortunately, I'm not clear on it, either! I do know that comic book cover images are under less restrictions that images from inside an issue, but that's all I know for certain. Sorry 8-( --Dr Archeville (talk) 16:54, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Want a project?

Hey. Let's get that Shinobi Life article up and ready for the big time and go for a WP:DYK spot. How does that sound? I have spring break this coming week, but when I get back I'll have plenty of time for wikipedia. Wheee! --Gimme danger (talk) 19:56, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Phantom of the Opera

edit

I am sorry to disturb you but you asked a question about "keep your hand at the level of your eye" in December. The answer was: "I forget if it appears in the book, but the use in the musical is that if you have your hand at eye level, then he can't get you with his magical lasso and strangle you (your arm would get caught in the noose too, leaving you room to breathe)". I guess you need to know that it's true but not quite. "The use in the musical is that" - on the contrary, the answerer described (correctly) its use in the BOOK. In the musical no explanation is given. One possible (though it seems unlikely) version - besides that of the book - might be that if Raoul hadn't kept his hand on the level on his eyes, he would have noticed that hole in the stairs, and so he wouldn't have fallen there, and he wouldn't have got to the place as quickly as he in fact did.
