editWikipedia is not a web host for holding personal web pages unrelated to work on building the encyclopaedia. You are, of course, very welcome to start making contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, if you are interested in doing so, but if you wish to have a personal web page, then there are many web sites which provide that sort of service, but Wikipedia is not one of them.JBW (talk) 13:49, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Am I allowed to declare my education ? A K Patfield (talk) 13:52, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. Almost all of us, when we start editing Wikipedia, know little or nothing about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, so nobody can be blamed for starting out doing things that are contrary to policies and guidelines that they don't know about. However, continuing to do the same things after being told about the relevant policies and guidelines is a different matter.JBW (talk) 20:00, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

. - Hello
- I asked if I could declare my education, and you did not reply so I removed information that I thought not relevant to building an encyclopedia.
- Can you consider un-deleting the sandbox so I can work on it, then I could get your approval before moving to my user page ?
- Then if any future edits contravene Wikipedia policy they could be deleted instead of deleting the whole page.
- Presumably it is OK to use my real name. A K Patfield (talk) 21:27, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
I did not intend to misuse Wikipedia as a webhost and hoped to recover user:Andy Patfield using this method Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations A K Patfield (talk) 22:11, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You seem to be here to just tell the world about yourself, you haven't made a single edit to the encyclopedia or even to an article talk page to discuss edits to an article. If you intend to contribute to this project to write an encyclopedia, please tell how. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:25, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
I did not intend to misuse Wikipedia as a webhost. I am interested in helping build an encyclopedia by contributing to subjects that interest me to improve my grammar, and writing style. When I feel comfortable with the rules I will remove the retired template from my user page and start with the suggested edits on my home page, punctuation, and adding references.
If you unblock me I promise not to misuse wikipedia as a webhost, or talk about myself on my user page. I will leave my user page blank until I have made 200 edits, and had time to look at other editors pages. A K Patfield (talk) 22:11, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
No block evasion, which is good. But nothing here convinces me you'd be a net benefit to Wikipedia if unblocked. Yamla (talk) 15:07, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

I did not intend to misuse Wikipedia as a webhost, my intention was to declare any potential conflict of interest.
I did not receive a reply to my request so recreated the deleted page but changed what I thought were the offending statements, but was warned again. I then created a completely different user just declaring my old account user:Andy Patfield, that I never used, and I can't remember the password. I was then blocked but do not understand why as I did not recreate the blocked page, as can be seen from the deletion log.
I am happy to remove my education to avoid the webhosting issue.A K Patfield (talk) 22:56, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
Declined unblock request
editUser: 331dot I did not remove your declined block template out of disrespect.
For some reason it would not allow me to reply to explain how I intend to contribute to Wikipedia.
I do not wish anyone to know anything about me and declare my education in case of a conflict of interest. I think I am free to edit related topics but choose not to and declare for the case of transparency, but I am here to help build an encyclopedia. I am not happy removing information about me from my user page but I prioritise helping to build an encyclopedia over talking about myself, and my main interest is improving my grammar, and writing style. In the past I occasionally edited anonymously from my cell phone, but recently the ip range is blocked, so I opened user:Andy Patfield, but I forgot the password.
I will in future refrain from any activity that could be considered detrimental to building an Encyclopedia. A K Patfield (talk) 09:20, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
Comments relating to the block
editFor some reason I have only just seen your email, although it was sent almost two weeks ago. My apologies for that. I would be willing to unblock your account to give you another chance, in view of what you have said, but Spicy has modified the block, making it a CheckUser block, and not being a CheckUser I can't remove the block. A CU block indicates that there is persuasive evidence that you have been evading blocks, abusing multiple accounts, or something similar, but I have no idea whether this is a mild case of block evasion once, or a major long-term case of persistent abuse of numerous accounts; I therefore have no idea whether there's any case for unblocking or not. Spicy may or may not wish to provide more information, either here or confidentially by email, but for the present my answer to your email has to be that there's nothing I can do. 20:53, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
