October 2017 edit

  Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Antelope Valley Transit Authority. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, AVTA Webmaster. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Antelope Valley Transit Authority, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. James (talk/contribs) 10:19, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:26, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Antelope Valley Transit Authority is a public service agency not a business. We offer mobility options to the community we serve. We are funded in part by the U.S. Federal Government and local government. Advertising does not serve us beyond the purpose of distributing and disseminating information to the public. I use this account only to make sure the information published to the public about Antelope Valley Transit Authority is accurate and current. Please indicate the specific part of the page that needs to be changed in order to unblock this page.AVTA Webmaster (talk) 16:16, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

As stated in the block notice above, there are two issues with this account. The first is the username. This username does not meet our guidelines for a proper username, and has to be changed prior to an unblock being considered. Secondly, the edits made by this account have been promotional in nature, and do not meet a neutral point of view. If you are to continue editing, you would have to confirm your conflict of interest with the subject. If you only intent is to write about AVTA however, an unblock will probably not be granted. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Thank you for clarifying. I will remove myself from your system. The information currently displayed is accurate. The logo that was changed is the AVTA service mark since 2012
