Personality & Preference Inventory

edit

The article Personality & Preference Inventory has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Merope 15:25, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your request for help

edit

Hi. Well done on removing your e-mail - it's best not to have it on public pages. If you need help you can allways add {{helpme}} on your talk page, and someone should pop over and advise you. Can I help you at this time? You can reply here or on my talkpage by clicking "chat" on my signature. Pedro |  Chat  09:33, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

re: Yes Please

Any and all help would be fantastic! I've been asked to create an article on Personality and Preference Inventory and have some information. I didn't think that it was pro advertising as there's no mention of a company etc but apparently it was. There were different types of personality tests that i could see but not this one, hence the wish to add. Having looked again i've found that these articles too do not exist.
Does that mean they also breached the no advertising rule?

I see that you previously had an article deleted under WP:CSD guidelines. You might want to check out WP:SPAM for reference. I know nothing about the subject matter you wish to create an article on, but certainly can help on guidelines and policies. It may help for you to prepare the article as a first draft and I couild review it. Rather than making a sub page at the momnent, why not prepare it on your user page under a new heading and let me know when you've done it. But do check the spam policies first - specifically the first section on adverts masquerading as articles. Shout when you need me!Pedro |  Chat  11:42, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

PAPI article in draft on Your User Page

edit

Hi Angela. I've reviewed and dug around. I don't think you're going to like this, but I'm going to ask another editor I get on well with (who is also an admin) if he will lend a bit of time to review as well.

1) The text is remarkably similar to that found at website. That would therefore be a copyright violation.

2) I note that you work for that company (as per your deleted e-mail address) and this is therefore a conflict of interest.

3) A Google search on "personality and preference inventory" only gets the cubiks website so this fails WP:NOTE

4. A Google search on "Dr Max Martin Kostick" returns limited hits, which would fail WP:PROF.

I'm really sorry but even though it is well written and does not fail WP:SPAM it really is un-notable in an encyclopedia.

That said I'm going to ask another editor to review as above. Leave it with me. Pedro |  Chat  11:45, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have asked one other editor to review, but I really don't see this is going to happen. Sorry, and thanks for your efforts. Pedro |  Chat  11:57, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok, got it. It's perfectly understood. :) Actually, i'll be leaving the company this summer (nothing to do with the company). Will remove it from my page when everyone's finished looking at it. Thank you so much for having a good look for me and spending so much time. x

You're welcome. I'm sorry we couldn't accept your work, but I hope you still find Wikipedia a useful tool and consider editing on other pages. Very Best. Pedro |  Chat  12:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stubs

edit

Hi there! I see you're a newbie, so welcome. If you want to create a stub article, you can do that yourself (although you should search to see if someone else has already created one on the subject). If you want to propose a new stub template, which is the line at the end of an article saying "This article is a ___stub...", you need to see the guidelines as WP:WPSS. I encourage you to ask question on the WP:WSS/P talk page as well. Cheers! Her Pegship (tis herself) 20:52, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
