editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Homelessness do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 19:32, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. βcommand 19:37, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Homelessness
editThe paragraph you are adding to the Homelessness article has multiple issues, please fix rather than restoring the same block of text. First, the phrase "According to The Homeless Hub ..." is promotional of that site, and is not needed in the text of the article, refs show the sources - no need to clutter up articles by also stating it.
Second, the specific link being used is to the site's main page - which does not state the information being added. This fails Wikipedia's verifiability requirements. The information may exist on a sub-page of that site; if it does, that sub-page should be used that shows it. Once found, the url should be added to the end of the text within "ref" tags; example:<ref>http://www.example.org</ref>. More on adding citations can be found at WP:CITE.
Lastly, the lead (first few paragraphs of an article) are intended to summarize the body of the article. The text you are adding should be added within an appropriate section within the body of the article, not the lead paragraphs. If you have questions, please feel free to ask and I will try to clarify anything you may not understand. --- Barek (talk • contribs) - 19:42, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. βcommand 23:39, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
