Hi AManWithNoHands! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of James Tour several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:James Tour, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war.

If you are reverted again I suggest starting an discussion on the article's talk page. You might be right (I have no opinion either way) but being correct is not a acceptable reason for "edit warring". I will leave you some additional information about editing Wikipedia. If you have questions or need help, you can ask at the Teahouse.. S0091 (talk) 17:27, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

A talk topic has been made. I just want to note that I have supported my edits, whereas the the others have not. A full argument is outlined in the talk topic. AManWithNoHands (talk) 18:54, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Good. I suggest giving WP:NPOV a read as I think that will be helpful to you and is a core Wikipedia policy. If you do not get a response in the next couple days or so, you can post a note at the WP:NPOVN noticeboard requesting input. S0091 (talk) 19:08, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Great thanks, I don't expect a response so I will probably end going to the noticeboard, sadly. AManWithNoHands (talk) 15:58, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
A suggestion, be more concise (see Wall of text). Like you, editors are volunteers so time is precious and the longer the post the less likely editors will read it (or at least read it in its entirety). S0091 (talk) 20:04, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I tried the "keep it short" route, but was told to go to the talk page, followed by a suspension. But, thanks, I will keep this in mind. The person, I am talking to seems to agree with the edit. So can you reinstate it (I am not allowed). AManWithNoHands (talk) 20:08, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
No, I will not reinstate the edit as consensus is required which has not been achieved (doesn't appear so anyway...hard to follow) and is the purpose of the talk page discussion. Also, I am not nearly enough familiar with the topic to join the discussion. S0091 (talk) 21:14, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
That didn't turn out so bad, did it? Now that there is consensus, if someone else wants to restore the content in whole or part, they will need to gain consensus and will need to provide adequate sources to do so (which may not exist). Thanks for raising the issue and following Wikipedia's processes, as odd as they may seem to a new editor. 15:36, 3 March 2023 (UTC) S0091 (talk) 15:36, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
great, thanks for your guidance on this! AManWithNoHands (talk) 15:44, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, S0091 (talk) 17:28, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (James Tour) for a period of 24 hours for WP:EDITWARRING. Please discuss content and sourcing on article talk. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:39, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to James Tour while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 19:39, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
