Kaaba

edit

Thanks for taking the time to work on te Kaaba article. Just a couple of problems:

  • The discussion on the properties of the colour black aren't especially relevant to the article, and are also original research. Material to be included in an article needs to be referenced from reliable secondary sources - your views on the proeprties of he colour and its significance may well be right but without independent referencing they can't go in.
  • The Hindu significance section has been extensively debated here, and there isa consensus not to include this given the limited sourcing and undue weigh given to a possibly accurate but relatively minor point. This is even more true in this article where the Black Stones ection is merely a short sumamry of the Black Stone article. I've removed the additions per the Black Stone talk page discussion - if you disagree you might like to raise it there and seek a change to the consensus.

Opposing views are welcome - lets discuss here or at the Black stone page. Euryalus (talk) 02:31, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where there is smoke, there is fire... How do you explain the circumnambulation, unlike anything else in Islam but prevalent throughout Hinduism? Is there any evidence of Islamic circumnambulation because there are loads of Hindu examples? We know Buddhism spread from India and ancient artefacts and temples have been found far afield. If nothing else, it brings Islam closer to Hinduism and Hindus closer to Islam which can only be a good thing. If we acknowledge the different opinions of different faiths as we do for many issues concerning Christianity, Judaism and Islam then surely this wikipedia entry is more universal.
