Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Yo-yo history.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Yo-yo history.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Haz talk 03:13, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Yo-Yo Sweden.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Yo-Yo Sweden.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:Yo-yo book cover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Yo-yo book cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 03:39, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Non-free images can only be used in the article space - not in the talk space. If non-free images are needed for reference purposes (such as talk pages), it's best to link to the image on the talk page, not to upload it here. Skier Dude (talk) 03:53, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
The book cover is ultimately going to be deleted unless used in image space, and it doesn't appear that's going to happen. The picture doesn't have any metadata (information from a camera or scanner that is automatically put in to an image by the device) which would give information on the date, place, time, etc. for any image file (for example see my upload at commons [1] and look at the bottom left side of the page). Without that, it's going to get challenged as to it's actual source. It appears that someone else has already tagged both of them for speedy deletion, so there's not much hope that they're going to be kept. Skier Dude (talk) 04:09, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
