 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Doug Weller talk 20:05, 25 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop the misleading edit summaries

edit

Most of your edits are not grammatical. I see you deleting sourced text, changing era styles, etc. Doug Weller talk 20:06, 25 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Doug Weller This is also still going on. Needlessly changing era styles here using the same misleading edit summary. WP:NOTHERE? TylerBurden (talk) 13:39, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
What's misleading about the changes/summaries? 9NateDawggg7 (talk) 13:42, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
You're not correcting grammar for one, you're making changes to era styles going against MOS:ERA, removing content etc. TylerBurden (talk) 13:47, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@9NateDawggg7@TylerBurden Seriously? You think it's ok to call changing an era style "Slight grammatical corrections."? LIterally everyone of your few edits has used that edit summary, and virtually all have made content changes, mainly major ones. Blocking you now until you can show you have a clue how to use edit summaries and justify your changes. As for era styles, WP:ERA must be followed. Doug Weller talk 13:51, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Dude, I'm not a professional Wiki editor, so therefore I don't know all of the fine-tuned rules. Blocking is unnecessary, but whatever. I just make slight changes that I think would make an article better for the average reader, not to skew data or anything like that. No need to be rude. 9NateDawggg7 (talk) 13:54, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Additionally, considering all of the edits I've ever made have been very minor, I wouldn't know how else to summarize it other than "slight grammatical changes/corrections." 9NateDawggg7 (talk) 13:55, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Then we have a problem. Doug Weller talk 14:04, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's really not a problem. If I make anymore edits in the future, I'll be sure to read up on the rules/policies for editing. As mentioned previously, I wasn't aware of the guidelines and I actually appreciate you sharing that info. I'm not trying to be disruptive, so I apologize if it came off that way. I'll admit that the fault is on me, so handle my account how you see fit. 9NateDawggg7 (talk) 14:12, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
You have already been blocked, so you won't be able to make anymore edits unless you are unblocked. But if you mean what you're saying, you should do what Doug said below and see about getting unblocked. How difficult is it to use an accurate edit summary? Just say "removing content for x reason" or whatever it is that you are actually doing. As for changing era styles to your personal preference, just don't. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Doug Weller talk 13:52, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
You've only made a few edits, so you can link to each one with an appropriate edit summary to prove you can do it. Doug Weller talk 13:52, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
