June 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Aviram7. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Shawne Kleckner, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 🥇 ÀvîRâm7(talk)🩺 17:23, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I will look for some additional sources for this data. 98.97.11.130 (talk) 17:24, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see the entire revision was removed. What portion of this is unsourced? I thought you were referring only the one section that was previously removed in the section marked "way too promotional, lacking secondary sources."
There are sources throughout the entire edit that was reverted. The old version is well out of date. 98.97.11.130 (talk) 17:28, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
LinkedIn and Twitter do not count as sources. Drmies (talk) 02:03, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see that the entire entry was removed which seems rather harsh. If the logic is Kleckner is not notable, then we should remove articles about Gen Fukunaga, John Ledford, amongst others.
While I am happy to review and update sources, I was simply trying to add data that I have been researching as part of a book I am working on as part of the industry. Many of the items I had linked went to ANN articles as well as Fred Ladd's history in this time period from his book. I also added information from other sources. I agreed that the section which was marked "promotional" needed additional sources or other data, but I disagree that the man isn't notable. He was one of the pioneers of the anime industry and was also involved in the lasertag industry as a leader in that market. If he's not notable, we should be removing these other folks as well and folding them into their respective companies.
My apologies for editing without logging into an account. Have set that up for the future. TheIshikawa (talk) 02:55, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Note also the twitter "source" link was simply a connection to Kleckner's farewell message that he sent to all of the Crunchyroll staff, which he also posted on Twitter on his personal account. If that's not a valid reference, I believe it was also referenced in an ANN article. TheIshikawa (talk) 03:02, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
