December 2021 edit

  Hello, I'm Darren-M. I noticed that in this edit to Barbara Pit massacre, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Darren-M talk 19:12, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

June 2023 edit

  Hello, I'm HMSLavender. I noticed that you recently removed content from Battle of Drøbak Sound without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. lavender|(formerly HMSSolent)|lambast 01:08, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for noticing. I deleted it because it was irrelevant to the article, and I'll do so again. If you have some sources that bring some sort of usefulness of delineating the specific aircraft flown by a specific pilot whose own page is extremely lacking in notability feel free to add links to that information. Tired of reading through articles on wikipedia fluffed with fawning over dead nazis. 98.30.43.66 (talk) 01:22, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

July 2023 edit

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Battle of Drøbak Sound. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. BilCat (talk) 06:46, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Removing non-notable irrelevant data from an article is hardly edit warring. I see no reason to have to wade through pointless minutiae involving obscure dead nazis scattered through every single article about WW2, and it's getting annoying seeing some pointless sentence about or link to Ubersturmgerwaffel Von Shliekcheldik or Gerberherwalt Reinshmuck or whoever every single paragraph, especially when visiting virtually every single one of those pages clearly shows someone with virtually zero notability. 98.30.43.66 (talk) 18:44, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
There's nothing wrong with having strong opinions about an issue, but you have to realize that on almost every issue, there will be someone who will disagree with you for some reason, especially on a worldwide site. Guidelines against edit warring are there to help ensure we don't spend all our time reverting each other endlessly. The only exception for edit warring is obvious vandalism, which this is certainly not. Thanks for starting the discussion on the talk page, but next time, please do that instead of reverting three times. BilCat (talk) 21:46, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
