Welcome! edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the ones you made to Emma Sulkowicz. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Here are some links to pages you may find useful:

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (96.59.109.178) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

December 2022 edit

Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 12:13, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I removed non-npov terminology, you dunce. 96.59.109.178 (talk) 12:21, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. --Yamla (talk) 12:24, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are attacking me, and destroying the quality of Wikipedia with your tone policing and idiotic left-wing propaganda. 96.59.109.178 (talk) 12:32, 20 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Ben Cardin, you may be blocked from editing. General Ization Talk 01:30, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

on his official twitter page. why don't you fix the citation if you don't like it instead of being a karen and threatening people? 96.59.109.178 (talk) 01:49, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Because that's your responsibility as the one adding the content. If you disagree, continue, and you will lose the ability to edit Wikipedia. General Ization Talk 01:50, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for making personal attacks towards other editors.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  331dot (talk) 01:52, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

There is a ton of unsourced information in the Cardin article, and my source (Cardin's office) was attacked by this disruptive editor for no good reason. The article is basically a fluff piece and hardly seems to have been written by a neutral source. Please note I identified the source clearly, and the date. I am not familiar with Wikipedia's tweet citation style, but attempted to put that in subsequently before I was silenced.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Acroterion (talk) 03:11, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

NOTE: There is a ton of unsourced content in the Cardin article. It's basically a fluff piece. I was attacked for posting his publicly stated views on censorship which he made in an open session. Rather than amend the article or provide a helpful link as to how to do it, I was told that it was unsourced (I clearly said what the source was) and warned against vandalism. Rather than correct the *citation*, the abusive editor attacked me as posting unsourced material and threatened my account status. (I clearly identified the source and date. The complaint was that it wasn't cited correctly in Wikipedia's style. Which is really not obvious how to do in any case for someone who isn't familiar with the website.)

Perhaps if you had bothered to click on the several links I shared with you concerning our policies and practical guidance on citing sources here on Wikipedia, including WP:CITE, WP:BURDEN and WP:BLP, and followed that advice instead of attacking me for doing so, you would not be blocked now. General Ization Talk 02:14, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.

Further personal attacks and incivility after the block and you will likely be topic banned from editing about post 1992 American politics. Please be civil and collaborative, not confrontational. 331dot (talk) 01:54, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

One could regard deleting edits which clearly identify the source of the information as being unsourced as vandalism.
One is tempted to regard threatening my ability to post basis of the claim that the information is unsourced when the date and source of the information is included in the content of the post to be intentionally abusive and uncivil. 96.59.109.178 (talk) 02:16, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also not really sure how to title a tweet. I would say "advocacy of censorship." 96.59.109.178 (talk) 02:17, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, one could do those things if one was not familiar with Wikipedia policies, or if one was simply looking for conflict. Either way, you are not making good arguments for your IP being unblocked. General Ization Talk 02:19, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

January 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Hey man im josh. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Věra Jourová, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:58, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Her extremist authoritarian rhetoric can be seen here promoted on her official twitter page. https://twitter.com/VeraJourova/status/1616403377985814528?s=20&t=Haj8CBZrLLzH4JOoWjGGRQ
Apparently, such ministers aren't even elected, although they style themselves using Democratic titles. Grotesque! 96.59.109.178 (talk) 13:06, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
