Collapsing tables

edit

To create a simple collapsed table, try this

other options for collapsing include, {{hidden}} and {{collapsible list}} and {{navbox}}. Frietjes (talk) 22:49, 22 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

the easiest way to remove the border is to simply omit the wikitable class
or you can use other base classes
many of these base classes include other stuff, like table width and floating, but that can be changed using style statements

Help request

Am I allowed to use my eMail address for my username?

Probably not - see WP:Usernames, particularly the section headed "Promotional names". JohnCD (talk) 19:03, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, so is my eMail address - sales002k@suttonlea.org - acceptable, given that - and I cannot stress this enough - SALES IS MY SURNAME?--90.217.236.85 (talk) 19:30, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is an appropriate username. Legoktm (talk) 19:52, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
I have to disagree. I strongly advise against it. Your name is unfortunate, from this point of view. Wikipedia fights a constant battle against spammers and people who want to use it to promote something, and you would have continual trouble from people who assumed that you were a sales department, and would very likely find your account blocked. Even the "suttonlea.org" bit is undesirable, as implying that you are editing on behalf of that organization. Wikipedia accounts are only for individual volunteers, who are personally responsible for them, and your username should not raise any doubts about that. JohnCD (talk) 19:55, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, if there's a disagreement, I'll just create the account and work from there.
I'm sorry, I made a mistake in my original reading of the policy and gave you bad advice (now struck). If you need help picking a username I can try and help with that. Sorry about the confusion, Legoktm (talk) 05:17, 26 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Here's a toast to the host
Of those who edit wiki near and far,
To a friend we send a message, "keep the data up to par".
We drink to those who wrote a lot of prose,
And then they whacked a vandal several dozen blows.
A toast to the host of those who boast, the Wikipedians!
