References in lead edit

Hi there, just FYI, there is no prohibition on having references in the lead. Per MOS:CITELEAD: "The presence of citations in the introduction is neither required in every article nor prohibited in any article." In my experience, claims in the lead that are subject to being questioned (birth date, birth place, gross figures, summary of critical response, caste, etc.) should probably be supported by a reference. At the very least, this makes it far easier to spot vandalism, because the reviewing editor doesn't have to search the entire article to find the reference--the reference is right there after the claim.
