For the record. edit

Just in case Darkknight2149 follows through on his over-dramatic threats to take the recent dispute between him, me and anyone else he thinks might possibly be a sock (or a Berkley professor) to ArbCom, I would like to state for the record that I'm not Jasper Rine, or anyone's sock. Or for that matter, anyone editing in contravention of a ban, block or other sanction. And that I'd be willing to provide ArbCom with confidential information regarding my previous registered (no longer accessible - no password) account, along with any more recent IP's I've edited with, and can readily identify (my ISP changes my IP frequently, so I doubt I could find them all), enabling them to confirm my good intentions. And DNs paranoia. Clearly there is a risk that my IP will change again, but I'll try to check here to see if anything happens anyway. It may of course be difficult (or even impossible?) to actually prove that anyone editing under a new IP is the same person as me, but I'll leave that little conundrum for ArbCom to figure out, should the need arise. I suspect though that ArbCom will find it unnecessary, since my editing history under this IP is of itself quite sufficient to demonstrate that DNs accusations are based on nothing but bad faith, after being caught out abusing a misunderstood WP:COI guideline out of what appears to be spite. WP:COI guidelines are necessary, but shouldn't be used as an excuse to attack individuals depicted in 'biographies' filled with trivia and misrepresentation. Or to restore such material, when the subject (per Wikipedia policies and guidelines, then and now) removes it. And nor should anyone, including IPs, be subject to wild accusations of sockpuppetry, 'bludgeoning' and lord knows what else just for agreeing with what had previously been said at WP:ANI. Or for quoting relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Or for quoting what the WMF has to say on biographical content. Nothing in policies or guidelines says that it is necessary to register in order to point out what policy says, and until such policies and guidelines exist, I will reserve the right to comment, at WP:ANI or anywhere else. This still claims to be an 'encyclopaedia that anyone can edit', and accordingly I see no reason why I should not also comment on its functioning. If anyone doesn't like it, they should propose a change of rules... 86.134.75.242 (talk) 08:37, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
