edit

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to List of Hollyoaks characters, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 21:43, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. I should have said. The character of Verity Hutchinson has now left the show. She has been killed off. I was just updating the list by removing her from the current characters section to the past characters section. I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough.

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to List of Coronation Street characters, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. I apologize. I thought the reason for me removing it was obvious for anybody who had watched tonight's episode. Teddy Thompkins was killed off.80.189.177.77 (talk) 23:50, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at List of The Archers characters, you may be blocked from editing. Dakane2 (talk) 21:24, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

So I will be blocked from making correct edits then?80.189.177.77 (talk) 21:26, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Only if you make more unhelpful edits. If you want to make correct edits, you're not blocked so go ahead! Dakane2 (talk) 21:28, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I was updating the page. Jennifer Aldridge has died. Also the actress who played Peggy Archer has now retired and the actress who played Shula Archer has now left the programme as well and the character has moved away in the show. How were my edits unhelpful/incorrect. I wasn't changing anything that wasn't true.80.189.177.77 (talk) 21:30, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary, as you did at List of Coronation Street characters. Please stop unlinking text. Brachy08 (insert welcoming to chat with you message here) 00:04, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK. I was trying to make the page even. Not all of the characters were hyperlinked. Either hyperlink all of them or the ones that don't have pages or sections of pages to go to take the orange links off. It is very misleading.80.189.177.77 (talk) 00:06, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Usually we leave the links as they are until it is possible to be linked. Thank you. Brachy08 (insert welcoming to chat with you message here) 05:11, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is that in case someone creates a page for the character/person in question to go to? (Something which may never happen) In that case how come not all of the characters/actors on the page aren't hyperlinked? Some are, others aren't. The page seems quite inconsistent, uneven and lop-sided and it is quite misleading.80.189.177.77 (talk) 12:46, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for persistently removing article content without giving any explanation, despite repeated requests. You certainly know how to give an edit summary, because you have occasionally done so, but you almost always choose not to. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  JBW (talk) 22:10, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
When does the block expire? 80.189.177.77 (talk) 23:56, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ignore the last question. I have now seen it is the 1st March. 80.189.177.77 (talk) 00:18, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I didn't realise the edit summaries were so vital. Some of the edits were son minor and pretty obvious to why it was done that I didn't think they would need an edit summary. I wasn't breaking the rules deliberately. I would only have removed article content if it was incorrect. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough when doing it. 80.189.177.77 (talk) 23:58, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Block is now expired. 331dot (talk) 09:10, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
