Thanks edit

Just wanted to say thanks for uploading the great pictures of CFL players. You might consider uploading your work to Wikimedia Commons, where I have started a category for images of Canadian football. heqs ·:. 08:44, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pigskin Pete edit

The article Pigskin Pete has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 12:30, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:Grover-.jpg edit

File:Grover-.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Grover-.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Grover-.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 23:08, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:AdamWhiteTheReason.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:AdamWhiteTheReason.JPG, which you've sourced to Mike F. Campbell. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:01, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation edit

Your upload of File:AdamWhiteTheReason.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 11:24, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Another one of your uploads, File:Andrew Jones CFL.jpg, has also had some information automatically added. If you get a moment, please review the bot's contributions there as well. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 11:58, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Possibly unfree File:VanierCupMcMaster2012.jpg edit

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:VanierCupMcMaster2012.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. Horse racing photos edit

Hi! Was looking at the Queen's Plate page and loved the photos. Was wondering if there's any chance you have a picture of Mark Casse or anything related to Northern Dancer, as I've been working on those articles. Thanks. Jlvsclrk (talk) 20:03, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately, I have nothing of either Casse or Dancer. I've only been going to Woodbine for the last few years and have yet to meet Mr. Casse. If I happen to cross paths with him I'll be sure to try and get a photo. As far as Dancer, there's a statue out front of Woodbine - would that be an acceptable contribution? 76wins (talk) 23:21, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for checking. We could definitely add the statue to the section on honours. I'm trying to upgrade the Canadian horse racing content just a bit and good photos definitely help. Jlvsclrk (talk) 02:41, 10 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Pigskin Pete-.jpg edit

The file File:Pigskin Pete-.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 14 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
