This article contains a lot of errors. The term “Spanish” is introduced in the wrong way by Anglo speakers. Even in Spanish Constitution call Castilian (Castellano) to the official language. In countries all over South America (I cannot confirm Mexico) we learn Castellano at School, we never use the term “Español”. Personally I think “Spanish” became globally spread due expansion of WWW, it is a shame, I would like people start to use the proper name. We are forced to use it in that wrong way just to be understood by foreigners. Cheers.
