May 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Killarnee. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Foliation, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. --Killarnee (T12) 17:53, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Kilarnee. I have reverted the edit, after adding a couple of references. Incidentally, I am a tenured differential geometer at a major university, with a background in both foliations and general relativity, and so believe that I am well-qualified to make the edit in question. My basic reaction to the original paragraph on general relativity was that it was frankly much ado about nothing. However, as a courtesy to its author, I have tried to improve it and give it some context rather than just deleting it. Some of the talk concerning the entire article indicates that many readers found it impenetrably technical, so I hope that this simple example, with proper context, will be clarifying for some readers.

Hello, I'm TheImaCow. I noticed that you recently removed content from G2 manifold without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.   Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to G2 manifold, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. TheImaCow (talk) 04:22, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
