Hi Hickory, Fast removal. I've run Xenophilia.com for a very long time and what I'm saying about the site is true. I'm not selling anything there. It's just a collection of well, xenophilia, which, if Wikipedia page on the topic was interested in knowledge, will be of general interest. Promotion? What am I promoting other than xenophilia, the topic of this entry? Everything on here is promoting something. Sharing information is not allowed? This used to be an encyclopedia of and by the people. I know you have to be cautious and I've seen people promoting brands but take a look, there is no product on my site. It is all just strange stuff. Are you not are promoting the rules of Wikipedia by censoring my edit? Soapbox? I'm not advocating any particular view about xenophilia, other than stating the facts. It is an interest of many people as evidenced by odd news sections of major news papers. Thanks for reconsidering my addition to this topic.

Hello, and thank you for getting back to me! What you are promoting is a website, Xenophilia.com. Wikipedia is not an advertisement board, it is for facts only. The advertisement link I sent you says this: "It can be tempting to write about yourself or projects in which you have a strong personal involvement. However, remember that the standards for encyclopedic articles apply to such pages just like any other. This includes the requirement to maintain a neutral point of view, which can be difficult when writing about yourself or about projects close to you." For example you said, "The web site xenophilia.com is dedicated to preserving and presenting this content and has 15+ year collection, the best of the world's strange news." That does not tell people facts about Xenophilia, only your website. If you want to provide examples of Xenophilia you can simply write them, not direct people away from wikipedia to your website. As well, since you are writing that webpage this is considered self promotion. Hi Hickory. Thank you for the quick reply! There are thousands of examples of xenophilia on Xenophilia.com. I'm not allowed to publicize that because I created the site, by your rules. Okay, but including a link to a site with a 15+ year history that is primarily focused on the topic of interest to the entry seems appropriate to me. It seems odd not to have it here. Promoting the site? Can you help me to understand why every other external link, many to commercial products such as works of fiction, movies, and books, on here are not considered promotion when my non-commercial site is? Is it because J.K. Rowling didn't edit the text? Do I need a certain number of fans to qualify for an entry? I'm seriously asking. Rowling has a character named Xenophilius and your entry talks about him, that tells you nothing about Xenophilia as a topic. I'm Xeno and I've run a strange newsletter since the birth of the Internet, since before Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter book. I'm trying to share xenophilia.com here it because it's relevant. There is no benefit for me other than having people learn more about xenophilia by experiencing it. If my adding it here is "promoting it," sure, but has this site lost sight of the spirit of why "promotion" is not allowed? It's not spam. It is real xenophilia. My edits were not vandalism and I urge Wikipedia not use such inflammatory accusations in its language. You have a site that allows input and I attempted to add my input. You disliked it, so you deleted my input, fine, but don't accuse me of 'vandalism' please. There was no such intent.

Now, for the next part: The difference between what you did and the Harry Potter references is that they simply stated examples and did not lead people away from Wikipedia. It is also promotional because of the language you used. If your site is full of examples feel free to list some here, not guide people away to your website.
