October 2018 edit

  Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 22:47, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at EgyptAir Flight 990. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 22:50, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Stop attributing personal motives to other editors, and stop making inconsequential changes with that kind of edit summary. Acroterion (talk) 22:52, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Please explain this edit summary: "Context is substantial, you are editing around the context for personal reasons." Acroterion (talk) 00:32, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on EgyptAir Flight 990. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Softlavender (talk) 00:45, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You made a change which did not affect the factual content of the article. It was reverted. That means your change requires consensus, which you clearly lack as two editors have now reverted you. If you want your change in, you'll need to convince the two editors that oppose you that your preferred version is an improvement. If we do not agree, your change stays out. There are means of dispute resolution, but all that will do is give you more editors to convince your preference is an improvement. If no consensus to change is formed, the status quo is what will remain in the article. That's how Wikipedia works. Id suggest you pick your battles carefully. This isn't worth the hassle, and if you go back to just changing it, you'll likely see your editing privilege suspended. John from Idegon (talk) 00:49, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
