Voices From Beyond edit

So was Voices from Beyond released to tv or how was it released per the book? Andrzejbanas (talk) 01:55, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

It was financed by a TV producer but it apparently was theatrically released in 1994, so it looks like it was never shown on TV (probably due to the gore). All other sources though list that the film was released theatrically in Italy in 1991, but the book says 1994. So I would list it as a 1991 movie, despite the later 1994 release date. Fulci made another movie after Voices which was released in '91, so listing Voices as 1994 is very misleading.69.114.123.212 (talk) 15:28, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

What are the "all the other sources" you speak of. This is the first source I can find that discusses anything about when it was released. Also, you say "apparently" it was relesaed theatrically in 1994. What does your source actually say?Andrzejbanas (talk) 20:33, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I know imdb is considered unreliable but they list "June, 1991" as the release date, and any reference books you look that film up in has "(1991)" in parentheses next to the films title. All the websites that review it (even Amazon) list it as a 1991 film. Fulci fans all consider it a 1991 film, because he made "Door To Silence" right after it, and that film was also 1991. The Stephen Thrower book says however "1st Italian theatrical screening: March 1, 1994 -- running time (theatrical) 89 minutes". That's the only source that gives an actual date. But it may have taken 3 years to get distributed, but Fulci basically stopped making movies after 1991. That was his last year of directing anything. His career basically ended in 1991. 69.114.123.212 (talk) 19:43, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Also, per WP:FILMYEAR, we "List films by their earliest release date, whether it be at a film festival, a world premiere, a public release, or the release in the country or countries that produced the film, excluding sneak previews or screenings." It doesn't matter when it was made, it's a matter of when it publicly became available. Andrzejbanas (talk) 21:29, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Saying (1991) in brackets doesn't really mean anything. Is that the copyright date? the film release? Its not clear and we need specifics. If you can find anything that says it was released then specially, then please add it. Otherwise, we should not. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:07, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I can only find the 1994 release date. But I'm just saying that it was obviously a 1991 film because Fulci made it before he did Door to Silence (also in 1991), then he stopped directing films at that point. So I'm just saying it looks weird saying it's a 1994 film when he stopped making films in 1991, that's all. I have no idea why imdb says June, 1991, quite honestly.69.114.123.212 (talk) 22:16, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm having deja-vu from this. Imdb has several films without release dates or flat out incorrect information. which is why we don't use IMDb as a source (see WP:RS/IMDb). Many Italian genre films that were made then did not see the light of day in Italy for years. A good example would be to look at some of the articles for Fulci's direct-to-video films. It doesn't look weird if its sourced. Which it is, and that is what we should stick with.Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:26, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Also on some reasearch, this source states 1994. Even IMDb says it was distributed in Italy by Variety Film in 1994 here. Andrzejbanas (talk) 05:35, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Infobox standards edit

Thanks for adding some information to the Lucio Fulci films. Just as a heads up, do not remove the start date templates from the infobox. Also, we only use the earliest known release dates of films in the infobox and their country of production's release. In other words, adding an American release date for a Fulci film is something we wouldn't do. You can read more about it at Template:Infobox film. Andrzejbanas (talk) 02:14, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Please cite reliable sources. You have added and changed several running times of films without reason or without a source. If there are discrepancies, please discuss them on the films talk page., without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Andrzejbanas (talk) 23:17, 10 April 2020 (UTC) What time did I change without a source? I'm only fixing running times if I have a reliable source.69.114.123.212 (talk) 23:21, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have been changing running times of films that had sources. If there are discrepancies in sourcing, you should discuss them on a talk page. Not just replace them. Andrzejbanas (talk) 23:27, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
