Survivor articles

edit

The tables in the survivor articles are being adjusted to meet our rules, specifically on WP:ACCESS, but also WP:TABLE. Please do not change these back. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 06:49, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Then explain why exactly are you only doing it for specific seasons and not others? It causes inconsistency and we have never had this problem before. It's an unnecessary change for arbitrary rules that were just made up. All these links you posted don't tell me anything about why you're now changing the tables now after almost 15 years. 66.25.94.86 (talk) 19:54, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, just because something has been wrong since it's inception, doesn't mean it has the right to remain so forever. We shouldn't really fork these discussions over many pages but basically all articles need to meet our manual of style. These aren't "rules that were just made up", they are things that have been ignored for years. Part of this is WP:ACCESS, which requires people with screen readers to be able to access the same information we have. That means no small words, all columns and rows should start with scopes. We also have WP:COLOUR, which shows that we should never use colour on its own to denote information. In addition, these tables do show the same information repeatedly. Wikipedia doesn't particularly care what tribe someone was on at any particular time. We are not a fan website. What we do care about is having a succinct article that explains what happened, how the filming took place, and a brief overview of how the results went.
As for it not being done across all articles, it's something I plan on doing, but it's not a reason to remove on other articles. See WP: OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 06:31, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Survivor: Marquesas shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources. This is your last warning. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 19:44, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
