April 2019 edit

Hello, I'm Kb03. I noticed that you recently removed content from Jewish Brigade without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Delaware Bay has been reverted.
Your edit here to Delaware Bay was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://mapoftheweek.blogspot.com/2011/10/map-of-week-shipwrecks-of-delmarva.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 17:30, 29 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Niall of the Nine Hostages into O'Neill dynasty. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:58, 2 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Carl Panzram, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you.   Your addition to O'Neill dynasty has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:53, 5 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm S0091. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, East St. Louis Race Riots, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. List of lynching victims in the United States edit

I reverted your edits to List of lynching victims in the United States because you did not include any link to a Wikipedia article that includes information about the lynching. The notice at the top of the article states: "Names added to this list must be linked to an article about the case. Otherwise they will be deleted. Consider writing an article, if there is none." That notice was placed there because there have been thousands of lynchings in the United States, and listing all of them without links to articles about them would make the list very unwieldy. Future decisions about how to structure the list (or lists, if it is divided) may change that guidance, but in the meantime we would like to encourage writing articles about each lynching incident, where there are enough reliable sources available to produce a quality article. - Donald Albury 12:51, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to James Lawton Collins, you may be blocked from editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 16:14, 7 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did with this edit to Yemenite Children Affair. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Write in English edit

I understand you are a snag, but still, please write in normal English. I am referring to this edit. For example:

  • Who is R. Abin? If you mean rabbi Abin, then please write so. By the way, the word "rabbi" should not be capitalized. Please also take care to see if we have an article about him, and if we do, please link to it: Abin I.
  • Who is R. Jose b. Ḥanina? If you mean rabbi Yose ben Hanina, then please write so. Please also avoid strange diacritics, like Ḥ, which are not in use in English. If a rabbi has an article, please write his name as in that article, if not, please see WP:HEBREW on how to transliterate Hebrew.
  • What is Esth. i. 12? Please write out the name of the book, and use normal numbering, like this: Esther 1, 12. Also consider to add a link to the Book of Esther.
  • Per WP:Ibid please refrain from using "ibid." or "ib."
  • If you bring a list of sources, consider separating them, e.g. with a bulleted list. Debresser (talk) 17:40, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Amel-Marduk. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:44, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I see you are still not adding the required attribution when copying from the Jewish Encyclopedia. Please start doing this right away, at the time you add the content. Here is an example of what you have to do. This is not optional. Thank you, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:41, 21 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I see you are still not adding the required attribution. You need to either add a template {{PD-notice}} or {{Jewish Encyclopedia}} when copypasting from the Jewish Encyclopedia. Any future copypastes that are not properly attributed will be removed. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:48, 23 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Talk pages edit

Hello. When you post a message on a talk page, please make sure to end it using four tildes (~~~~), this will add a signature linking to your talk page. I also see that there were a number of warnings above, but little talk page participation: if there is material that you wish to restore after it was reverted, opening a discussion on the relevant article's talk page is recommended per WP:BRD. Happy editing, —PaleoNeonate – 02:16, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
