Commons Pics edit
Hello 38, you asked me a couple days ago about images for Josef von Sternberg films. The best I can tell is that any that may have been on commons at one time and were deleted have been deleted either by an administrator or community consensus. It isn't often that we keep either images or text around if it's not public domain, or released as a form of CC BY-SA 3.0 License - see Wikipedia:Text of Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License for details. I can't really tell you more than that without specifics. (such as the old file name). - I noticed the message on Ched's talk page and I'm a Commons administrator. Dozens of files were deleted after this discussion. Royalbroil 01:25, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
- Dear User: Royalbroil - the files were deleted in retaliation over a dispute regarding the Mann Gulch Fire. See Talk section at that site under "Timeline" discussion. The deletions were wholesale; no communication was attempted with me to make corrections or adjustments.
