Genetics section needs synthesis

If you read the whole Genetics section, it seems to be merely pasting in one study after another, even though the studies do not agree, without any acknowledgement that we are being given no way to adjudicate among them nor even any acknowledgement that they DO conflict. Are more recent studies better accepted than older ones, or vice versa? What to make of the extremely different picture we get depending on which paragraph we focus on here?
