I also urge you to refrain from these disruptive edits. I think what's happening is that you're wrongly conflating a dish's origins and its status as a 'national dish'. Many national cuisines include dishes that have their origins elsewhere. It has even been argued, for example, that fish and chips is Jewish in origin. If the "first known written recipes for a dish of the name" being in England for this dish takes primacy, why doesn't "the first recorded use of (this) phrase" being in Scotland also take primacy?
