Jaminton Campaz

edit

Hi there. This change at Jaminton Campaz was not an improvement. [[Attacking midfielder]] is preferable over [[Midfielder|Attacking midfielder]] per WP:NOTBROKEN. "Brazilian club " is correct grammar, "Brazil side" is not. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 18:05, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Einstein: attacking midfielder is an obsolete term but attacking midfielder is not. Read up on your subject.2603:8000:D300:D0F:B47F:8C30:9EA5:CF42 (talk) 18:10, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean by "obsolete term"? Have you read WP:NOTBROKEN? Robby.is.on (talk) 21:33, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
WP's stuff is very cumbersome and at the best of times difficult to navigate. Remember that up until the "Mexican national football team" situation came to be recognised as wrong WP authorities tripped themselves to publicly accept it as grammatically correct without regard to how in official and legal titles not in English should be translated grammatically by its native language version rather than some version mixing native language and English grammar creating something inappropriate. Now we are creating men's and women's article titles. All the best with your search.2603:8000:D300:D0F:B47F:8C30:9EA5:CF42 (talk) 22:11, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Are you using some kind of translation service like DeepL or Google Translate for your English? I find it very hard to parse and your last response doesn't seem related to the issues at hand. Robby.is.on (talk) 22:50, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

It seems every continued communication on your part delves deeper in insult. Are you aware of your approach?2603:8000:D300:D0F:B47F:8C30:9EA5:CF42 (talk) 22:55, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I genuinely didn't mean to offend. I originally posted to your Talk page to explain why I reverted your change. I am aware that Wikipedia policies, guidelines and conventions can be difficult to navigate. There are many of those and some have changed over time. That is why I try to take the time to explain things. Robby.is.on (talk) 23:04, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Despite your "concern", you did and being unaware just what the approach achieved especially as you assumed an article title was current and it was not, that use of an IP address indicates inexperience and it did not and most prejudicial that because someone's style was different than your own they were not a "native", and they were. Now do you understand? Because if that is not the case then further discussion is not recommended. What is the saying, leading a horse to the trough. And this is not a challenge to you but merely stating what is fact that as the conversation continued it got deeper in conflict in issues that had nothing to do with what you seem to be originally concerned.2603:8000:D300:D0F:B47F:8C30:9EA5:CF42 (talk) 12:52, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Where did I state or imply you were inexperienced? I pointed out two issues in an edit of yours. Whether one is experienced or inexperienced, there can be things one doesn't know. So I came here to let you know about WP:NOTBROKEN and a grammar mistake you made. you assumed an article title was current and it was not suggests you still haven't either read or understood WP:NOTBROKEN and what it says about redirects. Teahouse replies

I have seen your recent Teahouse replies to other posters. Thanks for trying to help out but I'm afraid you don't have sufficient knowledge of the various areas of Wikipedia to answer posts there in a satisfactory way. PrimeHunter (talk) 01:28, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

You would be more helpful elsewhere.2603:8000:D300:D0F:B47F:8C30:9EA5:CF42 (talk) 02:33, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I just happened onto this exchange, and feel the need to warn you of the dangers inherent in choosing to go on the offensive a few hours after starting to edit Wikipedia. Based on the quality of your Teahouse responses thus far, you don't yet appear to be ready to competently answer questions on the Teahouse..
More-experienced users will give more considered answers, due to their greater range of experience and deeper appreciation of the importance of showing a modicum of respect for other users. You seem to expect obeisance from other users, but might find your IP range blocked as a result.--Quisqualis (talk) 04:30, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
