Michael Bryant

edit

If a media outlet publishes an article specifically accusing Richard Peck of a conflict of interest in the Bryant case, that would merit mention in the article. But it's not appropriate to use Wikipedia to create the perception of a conflict by piecing together sources to create an original research claim that hasn't already been made in the media. It's not our role or our job to accuse him of a conflict unless and until a reliable media source does so first. Bearcat (talk) 18:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

bearcat, i did include a link to a news story in the Vancouver Sun "a division of canwest publishing" which has been around since 1912. how is that not reliable?
It's not enough to simply provide a link stating that Peck made a political donation to Wally Oppal — the BC Liberals and the Liberal Party of Ontario are not the same thing, for starters, and according to the article the donation wasn't even to the BC Liberal party as a whole anyway, but to Oppal's individual campaign. What you would need to provide is a link which specifically states that somebody has specifically accused Peck of a specific conflict of interest; the link you added would only be okay if the article itself asserted a link between that donation and his role in the Bryant case.
