- Being a student, I found that a redundant word was written in accordance with the given topic but didn't knew that Wikipedia is having a policy in which you've to give references for correcting single words, so I decided to give up on editing. 202.160.174.117 (talk) 18:59, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Grammarly warning
editPlease stop editing Wikipedia with Grammarly and similar automated grammar tools. They do not understand our page syntax or manual of style and create issues within articles that are disruptive. -- ferret (talk) 18:51, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- I see you're continuing to use Grammarly despite having seen this warning, and have broken another page. Please stop, or you may be blocked to stop the disruption. -- ferret (talk) 19:12, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Okksh I got that but let me know how you are able to know that I am using Grammarly. Please reply 202.160.174.117 (talk) 19:15, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Because Grammarly always causes issues on Wikipedia and I've learned to tell the signs of it. It doesn't understand the syntax we use and changes important programmatic details, like the names of templates, namespaces, or web URLs. This causes them to break. For example, we use a citation template named "cite". Grammarly believes this is a spelling error and will change the name to "site", which breaks it. Or, a URL contains "facebook" in it. URLs are case sensitive, but Grammarly will change it to FaceBook, breaking the URL. -- ferret (talk) 19:19, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
