April 2022 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See WP:DONOTFIXIT 0xDeadbeef (talk) 10:21, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Thank you for your comment. I just want to point out that there were only two links that failed to comply WP:DONOTFIXIT. Furthermore, the current template order creates a extra space at the top of page which looks ugly, my edit has eliminated that extra space. I will make an improved edit now. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 14:19, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, thank you for the constructive edits! I recommend creating an account. It's quick, free, and anonymous (you don't have to give away any real-world information about yourself).
When you're logged in, you can do many things that unregistered users cannot, such as creating new pages, uploading images, and keeping track of changes to articles you edit frequently. It helps the community, too — Wikipedians will be more likely to remember who you are when you have an account name! If you would like to check if a username is available, you can go here.

Thank you for your suggestion. For the time being, I am happy to just make some casual edits. By the way, I think you didn't understand what I was tring to say in my last post. The current template order creates a blank row at the beginning of the article which makes the layout look weird, no nother article has that extra blank row. I will revert your edit and copy and paste both links in another post so you can see the difference. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 15:32, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I'm going to look into this and solve this if I can. Please don't just revert my edit though, because that can be thought of as edit warring which looks bad. 0xDEADBEEF (T C) 15:41, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
It turns out that a blank line between the infobox template from the leading paragraph is needed to make this work. I will make that change now since it is more in line with Wikipedia's Manual of Style. 0xDEADBEEF (T C) 15:39, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
umm. I tried to preview and it showed no blank row.. 0xDEADBEEF (T C) 15:40, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
It still has that blank row: Fujian tulou. My way of arranging the templates (placing DISPLAYTITLE after Infobox) is the only way to eliminate that blank row right now. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 15:44, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I see that, but It might be because of the coordinates thing affecting the layout. I want to find a way to make this work without arranging them in that order... 0xDEADBEEF (T C) 15:47, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Okay I asked this here 0xDEADBEEF (T C) 16:01, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks bro. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 16:05, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Fixed xlink to stop throwing an error Happy Editing--IAmChaos 00:23, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

This extra blank row problem created by the {{DISPLAYTITLE}} template is still unresolved though. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 04:41, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
It is not created by the template. Let's consider DISPLAYTITLE and Short description as blank, so the following:
  {{Short description|whatever}}
  {{DISPLAYTITLE:whatever}}
Becomes (blank, newline, blank) which is just a newline so there would be an extra blank row 0xDEADBEEF (T C) 06:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't think so. I noticed that {{DISPLAYTITLE}} creates an extra blank row while {{Short description}} doesn't. If we place {{DISPLAYTITLE}} under {{Short description}} as per WP:LAYOUT, this blank row will appear. If we delete {{Short description}} or place {{Short description}} under {{DISPLAYTITLE}}, the extra blank row will disappear. The only way to comply with the template order stated in WP:LAYOUT while avoiding that extra blank row is placing both {{Short description}} and {{DISPLAYTITLE}} on the same line (exactly as what you've done), but it makes the codes look messy, I don't like this format. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 11:47, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
I just did a test edit, this problem has been fixed. 2001:8003:9008:1301:1516:F3EF:6434:339B (talk) 11:56, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
