Hello, 1smithmon and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 00:16, 12 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

it is not clear which references support which statements. Try adding the reference to the end of the statement. Also, i noticed some of the references were videos, are these a reputable source? Can you provide proof that 80% of sand comes from eroding mountains? Where you ask 'how is sand formed?' try replacing it with a subheading called 'Sand Formation' and where you ask ' is sand different from different sources?' you could similarly have another sub heading titled ' Types of Sand and Sources ' or similar. Wnere you say desert sand is useless, what is your reasoning or what evidence suggests that? Try expanding on the differences in Desert Sand which make it 'useless' and maybe make it a subsection too! If there is no 'Uses' Section in sand you should definately add one, but if uses vary depending on type then you should take that into consideration. Making glass out of sand might be a reason that sand is important, but i would avoid going into a great deal of detail on 'glass production' when your topic is 'sand'. How thin is the thin layer of sand in the ocean? find a reference for that, and another one to indicate that loss of that thin layer would be ecologically disruptive. Thank you for your peer review. I will try to find better sources, which are not videos. I will also refine the titles of the subheadings and make sure to show which facts go with each source. The suggestions you made for other topics are good and I will research them further. Thanks again! 1smithmon (talk) 00:28, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
