Hello, I'm Clpo13. I noticed that you recently removed some content from South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. clpo13(talk) 16:09, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Unblocked?

edit

Katie Huon I see that this IP was blocked in connection with User:Basnayaka, as the block templates above state. They are somehow still able to edit, and continuing the same behavior on List of universities in Sri Lanka[1]. Unless I am somehow mistaken, about their being blocked. I didn't see the IP on the SPI case for Basnayaka, as well as failed to find anything on their block log, so I am thoroughly confused. Boomer VialHolla! That was an autoblock, not a block of the IP address itself. I have now blocked the IP address for these long-term shenanigans. Huon (talk) 17:17, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 months for persistently making disruptive edits. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Huon (talk) 17:16, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Your reason here this is shared IP adress which is own by The Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN), is a specialised internet service provider dedicated to supporting the needs of the research and education communities within Sri Lanka.

Decline reason:

Unfortunately it seems that certain members of The Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) are only intent on disrupting Wikipedia, rather than learning. Optimist on the run (talk) 11:12, 25 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

This is a shared IP address use by 16 universities 6 research institutions in Sri Lanka so due to this blocking many members of these institutes suffered.please making necessary action for unblocking

Decline reason:

This block is appropriate and correct. We are not harming any members of these institutions who are all free to edit, if not personally blocked, so long as they sign in to an account. We will not be lifting this block and given the nature of the unblock requests, it's probably time to substantially increase the block. Yamla (talk) 12:52, 23 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.--Eng. M.Bandara-Talk 05:55, 18 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have created a section for you to discuss the issues that you were edit warring with on the SAITM article here, please raise your issues there and wait for other editors to reply before you put back your content. --Eng. M.Bandara-Talk 06:36, 18 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Basnayaka, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. --Eng.
