Undid your BLPN Template doc link removals

Sure, np. Also, {{template journal}} (a.k.a. {{tj}}, {{tji}}, etc.) is for, well, the doc page explains it; it is not a replacement for <code><nowiki>...</nowiki></code>, or for {{tlx}} / {{tlc}}. If you want {{refbegin}} to be linked, code {{tlx|refbegin}}, which renders as {{refbegin}}. Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 01:06, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

@Mathglot: As requested, I've started using {{tlc}}. As I understand, your concern is overlinking, and this time I tried harder to not introduce new links.

For {{tj}}, I was slightly confused about its usage, and I used it just because it looked pretty. Based on Template:Template link general/doc, I seem to understand now that its usage should be restricted to an "Examples" section and it should stay out of a "Parameters" section.

My goal is to unify the arbitrary choice of {{tl}} vs {{tlx}} (<code>) across Template:Refbegin/doc. Skimming Template:Ref, I now guess that {{tl}} is for mentioning all uses of the template regardless of parameters, while {{tlx}} is for a specific set of parameters.

I appreciate your trying to unify the usage at across Template:Refbegin/doc. Generally speaking, {{tl}} links a template without rendering any params (even if you include them, they won't be displayed); {{tlc}} and {{tlx}} include the params (remember to escape the equal signs), and tlx links the template whereas tlc does not. I thought this all used be explained at the doc page for these templates, but it doesn't do a very good job the way it is now. Mathglot (talk) 03:36, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
